Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Mechassist platform, including the website, dashboard, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Mechassist ("we", "us", or "our").

By creating an account, subscribing to a plan, or using the Service in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.

Mechassist is an automotive repair information platform. Depending on your plan, it provides VIN decoding, OEM parts lookups and diagrams, factory maintenance schedules and service intervals by mileage, garage tools, and professional repair data such as repair manuals, adjustment values, labour times, wiring diagrams, and diagnostics.

The Service is provided for informational purposes for qualified automotive professionals and enthusiasts. It does not replace professional judgement — always verify critical specifications against the vehicle manufacturer before completing a repair.

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account and keep it up to date. Accounts are personal or business-specific; do not share your login email or magic-link tokens with others.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.

The Service is offered on a subscription basis under plans such as Starter and Professional, billed monthly or yearly. Plan features and prices are described on our Pricing page and may change from time to time; we will give you reasonable notice of price changes before they apply to your next billing period.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before renewal. You can cancel anytime from your account; cancellation stops future charges and your access continues until the end of the current paid period. Payments already made are generally non-refundable except where required by law or where we determine, at our discretion, that a refund is warranted.

Payments are processed by third-party providers (including Stripe and Paystack). We do not store your full card details. You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your purchase, apart from those we collect.

You agree not to: misuse the Service or interfere with its operation; attempt to circumvent plan limits or access controls; scrape, bulk-download, systematically extract, or build a competing dataset from our content; resell, sublicense, redistribute, or publish vehicle data, diagrams, schedules, or repair data obtained through the Service; or share account credentials to allow unauthorised users to access paid features.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, and where appropriate, pursue legal remedies.

The Service, including software, design, text, graphics, and compiled vehicle and parts data, is owned by Mechassist or its licensors and suppliers. Vehicle manufacturer data may be subject to third-party rights.

These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your internal business purposes while your subscription is active. No other rights are granted.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

While we work hard to keep parts, schedule, and repair data accurate and current, we do not warrant that the data is complete, error-free, or applicable to every vehicle configuration, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any vehicle manufacturer. Vehicle coverage, availability, and response times may vary.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mechassist and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost business, vehicle damage, repair costs, or downtime, arising from or related to your use of the Service or reliance on its data.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, fail to pay amounts due, or use the Service in a way that exposes us or our suppliers to legal risk.

On termination, your right to access the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, governing law) will remain in effect.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The courts located in Australia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service.

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice through the Service or by email before the changes take effect.

Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must cancel your subscription and stop using the Service.
